Default Verizon has new America's plan (Mexico and Canada included)

Verizon Wireless introduces North America's Choice to Georgia/Alabama, Carolinas/Tennessee and Florida this Thursday, July 15th! North America's Choice calling plans, only available at Verizon Wireless, provide a simple solution to customers that want Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico and of course, the United States, as part of their home coverage area.

Gosh...I went into VZW last week (7/9) and they already were advertising these plans...there was a BIG poster up of all the areas that were covered...I guess if you go to Mexico or Canada often (or have families in those areas) then it's worth it!

South area is the last to get it... it will only be advertised behind counter. No collateral on walls etc.

I don't have Verizon but, it's pretty stupid where they're releasing it. Are a lot of people from Georgia, Alabama, Carolinas, Tennesse traveling to Mexico or Canada any time soon? In my opinion they should have released it first to the states that acutaly border the countries (South: Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California | North: Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisonsin, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine) Seriously, I would believe people that live in border states have a BIGGER chance of acutally visiting Mexico and Canada. Any of you agree with me?

and it isn't on the web site yet either for Southeast zip codes (although that's probably just the webmaster being slow)

I agree with you. Why would you to advertise in the middle of the country for a internation plan?

I'm going to respectfully disagree with you.

I own a small industrial consulting company. Our clients are industrial plants and facilities in the Southeast, East, and Midwest, primarily in the automotive industry.

Many of them have plants in Mexico and business in both Canada and Mexico. Right now I have people that I work with from several plants in this area who are in Mexico working with industry right now.

It is these people who would be all over this service from Verizon. With, as Ross Perot said, "that giant sucking sound south of the border",there is more going on between the US and Mexico than ever before. Canada is one of our largest trading partners.

While the market for this service is probably not massive, I would say there would be strong demand from the business community in the south for this service.

Just my $.02.

Have a great day.

Mike

It been almost a year here in Utah in a few months. You would think that by early spring the rest of the nation would be able to get it.

You are 1/2 right and i'm 1/2 right. I didn't consider the industrial side of it but you're not considering my side of it. I know because I live in a city that borders Mexico. For people in my situation it's like being in town even though you're really in another country because it's right next door. I would figure Verizon would want to introduce it, if it has to be step by step, to industries and border states. I just find it ridiculous that they would start it somewhere NO WHERE NEAR Mexico or Canada. AND THAT'S MY

The West Coast got the plans first...which makes sense since San Diego is right next to Tijuana and Seattle isn't that far from Vancouver.

I see your point, but I knew that it did not begin in the south, in fact I believe the south is the last place Verizon rolled it out.

I agree it doesn't make much difference in border towns like yours. Good points on both sides.

On an unrelated subject, my alma mater's former football coach is now UTEP's. (Mike Price, who coached at Alabama but never actually coached a game) He'll do a good job there.

I should hope so, last year, UTEP was doing the best it had ever done. The city was in great spirit.

When I first read this thread the Plan was not available in our area, but they began showing it as an option here on Friday.

I think this will do well in the industrial community.

They might not have it posted on the website yet, but try checking with a representative in the stores. They are not really pushing it that hard in most areas with collateral, but they should still have it.
