Ok well... Alltel... My cousins have alltel in Melbourne, Florida and they have a 321 area code number there and get Alltel Home service PROBLEM: when i go to the Alltel Website or call Costumer Service they tell/show me they do not admisnister phone numbers with the area code of 321 (Melbourne Florida) and they do not have Alltel Home Coverage but obviously they do Also, we live in the Orlando Metro Area and they do have coverage here (they say they do not and show it) but do not administer phone numbers (what's up with that?) and they sell the prepaid phone cards here too in some places And... we were in Salt Lake City, Utah and once again they said they had Alltel Home Coverage here and they did not... what is up with that ? anyone know anything or expieriances? sorry for bad spelling |

Alltel does not offer Local wireline service in SLC either. Everything there is delivered by Qwest, but once again, Alltel may be re-selling something. Normally, re-sellers have their own prefixes, but there are often exceptions. In markets where Alltel offers pre-paid Simple Freedom wireless service, they may be assigning Verizon wireless local numbers, but I haven't confirmed that. It's actually hosted by Wal-Mart and Alltel is doing all the administrative work. But since it's pre-paid, you're not making a check out to Alltel anyway. Then there's the possibility your cousins are mistaken. They could have SBC Local service, but use Alltel as their LD carrier. Sit here another 5 minutes, I could think of a few more possibilities. | |

Isn't there a early termination fee of $200 (if u look at there terms&conditions under prepaid it will tell you) and it also says there is a $35 activation fee is any of this accurate Look at my post a couple below and what is up with there coverage have to give it to them there new coverage map is so much more detailed the old coverage map was green and white but the green supposidly showed where there was coverage and white no coverage but when u call costumer service and ask them they say the white is where they have coverage and green is not once again Hey Bill Radio, First off my cousins are NOT liars because i have their number and it is a 321 area code and when you dial it and they have no mins left it says "Welcome to Alltel" or somthing along those lines also i have seen thier phone and it is a Nokia 3585i (serviced by alltel) and i have seen them with the prepaid refill cards in thier hand (it says Alltel and looks just like the Alltel ones they sell in VA) |

a couple years back, verizon and alltel swapped markets in east/west florida. If you call AllTel CS, they can give you no assistance. They most likely have SF. Alltel does not have any propriateries in Utah.(definately not wireless) Alltels landline coverage very small ... lexington, sc, ne kentucky, duram/raleigh, nc, sugarland tx and a couple other small markets. Are you confusing it with land long distance? Anyone can get alltel land long distance. I've heard rumors that they plan to sell off their landline services, and they continue to cut their workforce. Right now they are really pushing their DSL services, so take it whats its worth. |
