My text messaging is not working right for some reason. I'm not sure what it is. When I send a message, it says units deducted and message sent success, but the person I send it to doesn't receive it. I've tried sending to several people. Also, I don't receive messages they send me. However, I do receive PIX pessages they send me. I don't have a camera phone, so it comes in the form of a TXT and gives me a website to go to. (www.viewmymessage.com) I have Tracfone service through Cingular. I have a Motorola V170 phone. I have plenty of units and the phone is active and everything. I've had the phone for about three weeks, and I havn't been able to figure this problem out. I think it might be the message center service number on my phone. That's the solution that Tracfone gives me, but they won't give me a different number. It says to clear the number and enter the number shown below, but below it just says "null." The service number I'm talking about is when you go to Message, then press then menu key, then text message setup, then where it says message center. The number it shows for me right now is 13123149810. I don't know what signifacance that has. Please help. It's really gettin on my nerves since text messaging is what I really got this phone for in the first place. |

Unfortunately, I don't think I can be of much help, but I do recognize the number you listed. I have 7-11 SpeakOut wireless, which also uses the Cingular network, and that's the same number I have for the message center. I guess it's a central Cingular number that the resellers also use. Have you tried clearing it and entering it again? If so, I would call them again and tell them that you have the right number and it must be something else. It sounds like they have text messaging disabled or otherwise messed up on your account. Keep calling back until you get someone who knows what they are talking about. Good luck. |

My number also has a "+" sign in front of it. I don't know if that makes a difference or not... ?

I seem to have great service on my v170 with tracfone (when i charge it...without full charge it doesn't have service hardly at all maybe 2 bard)but i just can't get ringtones!
