Yesterday Sony Ericsson announced their new flagship cameraphone, Idou. The handset boasts a 12.1 MP camera, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, GPS, and Sony Ericsson's new Entertainment Unlimited Platform. Looks absolutely spiffing! Check out pictures here and more pictures & videos here.

It is a beautiful phone and also caught my eye, but coming from the iPhone a touch screen can be a bit frustrating when texting or composing e-mail.  |

I have an iPhone myself, but having watched the videos Idou looks just as slick.

The term "iPhone Killer" seems overused to me. Some reviewer invariably ends up using it to describe any new smartphone now. -Jay

I'm not terribly pleased with Idou at the moment, the touchscreen is resistive.  Btw if you are looking for an iPhone killer then check this out.

Ha ha, I have to admit that I'm not much of a LG fan myself, their handsets never really seem to be 'serious'. Having said that this one does actually look quite interesting. It certainly has the features to outdo the current iPhone, but whether they will be implemented well enough is another matter.
