Hey guys, I got a new vmail yesterday, and even tho I checked and deleted it, my voicemail icon wont go away! Ive turned the phone off and on, removed the battery and sim card. I cant get it gone. Any ideas?

Try leaving a new message, listen to it, delete it, make sure you use the VM menu to end the call rather than disconnecting, and then power cycle the phone. Troubleshooting that issue may vary by carrier.

Its happened to me a few times before too. Just leave yourself a new voicemail, then delete it after listening to it. Make sure you are not in a fringe area when you do this, as you don't want the signal that turns off your VM icon corrupted. It should disappear almost immediately.
