My sister just bought the w600i. Here are some issues: 1. delay when "answering calls", sometimes it wont answer. 2. does not play MP3, "CANNOT PLAY THIS SOUND" comes out, even with default mp3s. 3. when making out going calls, sometimes there is no sound, but the call is being made. we have already updated, and have done a master reset. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks. |

One imagines that there is some sort of firmware problem. Is the firmware branded at all e.g. has it been modified by a network? If so then you might like to try flashing the handset with generic SE firmware. You can use Wotanserver or DaVinci to do that. Please note that flashing the handset yourself may invalidate the warranty. If you haven't flashed a handset before don't worry, it's relatively easy. There are some guides on how to flash othe rhandsets, which should give you an idea of the basic procedure. Obviously you would substitute the W600 and it's firmware for whatever handset and firmware are featured in the guide (remember to use North American firmware). [W900] Using Wotanserver to Flash a W900i, ...and other SE phones! [W900] Unbranding a W900 via Da Vinc Step by step guide to upgrade firmware/debrand phone (Wotanserver) Wotanserver demonstration video K750i - Flashing Tutorial (DaVinci) If the firmware is already the generic SE version then I rather wonder if you have a bad apple so to speak. Best thing to do would be to nip down to where you bought the handset or contact SE directly and explain to them that the handset is playing silly buggers. Since the handset was just bought it will still be under warranty so they should either repair or replace it.

@SacsyM It might have network branded icons; the internet menu option (the top middle menu option) will probably take you to the network's WAP portal and not the SE/Google portal portal. If the network has been buggering around with the firmware it might have caused problems.
