Need help making my bluetooth hbh 30 work with my T68i!!!

I recently bought a Hbh 30 bluetooth headset for my T68i. I followed the instructions and when I held the power button down for ten seconds it says there is a dim green blinking light that comes on. When I tried to make the phone find the bluetooth headset device it says ''headset not found''. What am I doing wrong? I know this may sound like a dumb questions but can anyone give me step by step instructions so I can make this work? Also I'm thinking that the headset might be broken but I don't know that was just my first assumption when I got it since it's not working.

I got the Plantronics M1000 Bluetooth headset. Bluetooth headsets work a bit different than regular headsets since the phone/headset only establishes a connection when you receive or make a call. I also had problems figuring out when my headset is turned on and off, now I just hold it to my ear and wait for the beep when it turns on. As for setup, if I remember right I selected discover from bluetooth menue, then it listed my headset and I paired them (after putting my passkey in). Also, the Bluetooth connection on the phone has to be set to ON, automatic won't work.
