So, I bought an unlocked T616 from Cingular and am using it with AT&T. I hear there is no firmware which helps RF which is great since it is very poor (I get a signal but a low one) here. How do I get it? Can I just take it to a Cingular store? I'd imagine they would be pissed that I am not using it on their network and may even try to lock the phone down. I looked on the SE website but could not find anything useful on whether or not they would do it for me.

I believe you are talking about the T616 uncustomized R1B011 firmware

You will have to bring it or send it to a Service Point who carries the firmware.
We carry it at Virtual Dynamix...
