Upgrading T300 firmware to T310 firmware

After going through the SE forum on HoFo (HoFo (Howard's Forums) Sony Ericsson Forum) the last couple of days (especially in this thread : T300 --> T310 firmware upgrade ) , I have begun to wonder what sets the T310 firmware update for the T300 apart from the current T300 versions. Are there any perks that anyone has come across? Better menu speed etc/addition of Java-capability (is this a hardware or software-integrated function which needs to be there from the beginning and cannot be added later on?)

Has anyone done this in the UK? Regardless of where you are, please share your experiences. I've noticed that quite a few people from the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) have at HoFo (Howard's Forums) come across a store to do this. Could someone from that area comment as well?
