Default Improving Reception on the t68I!!!! It works

I had posted a message recently asking if the signal booster that is available online actually works, and someone had said it didnt. I received the signal booster in the mail last week, and my reception has definetly improved since then. I usually dont get reception at my desk at work (and i sit fairly close to the window as well) and now I can get decent reception even right in front of the elevator bank which is located in the middle of the building.

I get good reception at home too now, which I didnt get before either. All in all, the reception has definetly improved on my phone a great deal. You guys might want to check it out.

Obviously they've put up some antennas.

Me, I put the sticker on the back of my V3682 and now my P280 gets better reception.

Yup! Oddly enough I agree. I used to own a T68i and even with a firmware upgrade it didn't do too much until I added a signal booster...then I decided to sell it but that's a completely different story.

I put one on as well only because I figured it couldn't hurt. I don't notice any reception strength differences, but I have less dropped calls.

take the battery off and place the booster right onto the back housing of the cell phone. right over the sticker with the bar code on it. i put mine on the left side (on the infrared port side). the antenna is inside that phone above the battery. i think thats why the phone doesnt get as good reception as other phones. GSM is new in Boston, so the reception is very spotty, but i get excellent reception in NY.

You may also want to stand on your left foot, holding the phone between your thumb and forefinger of your right hand at arms length, while wearing a solid suit of armor cocooned in copper wire, sticking your tongue out, facing east, standing perfectly still atop a stepladder in the shadow of your providers tower will greatly improve signal quality of the T68. Or, you could just have the sticker implanted in your head, under the skin by the ear that you hold the phone to when you talk, that would work as well, or better yet, just swallow it, that way it is always with you and you can save the surgical costs. I heard that some of those only work on the 13th month of the year, during an eclipse in the second week of juevember on days that don't end in Y. Bottom line guys, they don't work, they have been proven not to work time and time again. If you think that you can improve reception on a phone by putting a sticker on the back of it that can have no effect on an antenna then I have some things I would like to sell you, a bridge over the ocean in Arizona comes to mind first, I will let you have it for a cool $30 million and throw in a 40 story highrise apartment building I own in Antarctica for free.

Default Improving Reception on the t68I!!!! It works

Bostonian Thanx for the info. Its on and it works well. I feel sorry for all the people that get poor reception and i think its due to At&t's bad coverage. Most users who complain are on the At&T network and im with Cingular in which i got decent reception before the booster and excelent reception after the booster was inserted. Ive owned the phone for a week and its the best phone ive ever had and they gave me the camera, booster, and leather case for free. Only complaint i have is with the ringers. I wish their were poly ringtones but thats minor. All and all a great phone.
Oh yeah has any one used the wirless infered hands free set? How good does it work? Where can i get a good deal on one? Thax again Bostonian.

Default Improving Reception on the t68I!!!! It works

Well there are a few things to consider in regards to the antena/sticker:
1. The sticker looks jist like the transformers emblem.
2. the antena in the phone is powered by the battery, the sticker is nestled between the two and draws no power at all.
3. How can a sticker that is not powered and is not directly connected to the phone beyond some glue improve signal strength?
Did everyone miss the commercial where the show someone getting into a steel encased elevator, generally not a very receptive signal area, and maintaining a call? We are consumers, but we are not slow. Cell phones need to be able to pick up signal to work. Take your tiny little phone, with it's tiny little antena, the nifty sticker attached and find some reason why it will work better anywhere. If they have the technology to develot this for a cell phone, please tell me why they still have an antena that you can plug into your radio or television to increase reception. How come I can't put a sticker on my cars bumper that will give it the ability to pick up radio stations in Russia? If you want better reception you need to do one of two things or both, a bigger external antena or boost the power to the already present antena. Of course you could always buy your own mobile cell site. Or better yet, you could buy a sticker that looks like a mobile cell site!

Sony Ericsson's casing has a protective subtance that emiminates any stray signal in the casing. Therfore, the boosters do nothing in the phones. I also have one that doesn't work.

O know this, as my best mate works for Sony Ericsson Australia.

I had exactly the same performance from the T68i I borrowed whether the sticker was underneath the battery or stuck to the outside of my computer case. I notice that my CPU temperature dropped from 58 degrees to 57 degrees, though...

Default Improving Reception on the t68I!!!! It works

THANK YOU!!! We have had many posts on this thing, and regardless of what you think, it DOES not work. What makes you think that adhesive material reacts with electromagnetic waves, bringing them in closer to the phone? Haven't any of you ever taken a high school science class? The only thing that will truly improve your reception is something that is able to actually catch the waves themselves. This is why they use antennas on phones. They are the only thing you can use to capture the waves in order to have reception. Last time I checked, I didn't hook my phone up to a sticker to place calls...lol

Default Improving Reception on the t68I!!!! It works

If you would really like to increase reception, then I would suggest upgrading your firmware in your T68i to R7A013. For all the phones which I have upgraded, the reception does not drop below 3 bars in places where it used to only get 1 or 2. We currently have the newest firmware with a 0 call timer and 0 joystick count. If you are interested in a flash upgrade of your phone please visit us at http://www.CellphonesLtd.net Thank you. Hope this helps.

Default Improving Reception on the t68I!!!! It works

Um.. my signal strength has never been better or worse than with any other phone.. Most reception issues are network related...not the phone. One company may work great for a person in one area of a city but suck wind in another. Show me some real side by side testing. Otherwise WAY too many variables to make generalizations about these things. temp. humidity, seasons, and network changes happen constantly. A tower covers a 1-3 square mile area in a city. (this is why companies have return policies)

No phone magic or ferry dust will make your phone get a better signal.

The headsets are bluetooth. NOT infared. Short range digital RF signal (about 20 feet) and are very cool. One of the best features about this phone.

YA nice sales job buddy. I upgraded mine for FREE from SE and I don't see ANY improvments at all. In fact my battery life seems to be shorter now and the reception is the same as it always was.
