Hello, Sometimes, I cannot carry my laptop and EVDO card, and need a device that can fit in my pocket. I have been using a SideKick since July 2003, before that it was a RIM pager for years. Just checking what else is out there. I love the SideKick and its feature, but the service is bad. Last week, there was a national outage for 4 days. The next device should have: - Email push, be able to use my regular email address (set the From & REply to - like the SideKick Can) - AIM - I do lots ot typing, need all the keys (SK has mini keyboard) - Web browsing - not WAP. SK is missing JavaScript, be cool to support that Now the other nice things: - Sync with Outlook - SSH needed - VPN would be sweet Any ideas? Thanks! EVDOguy EVDO Info :: EVDO Forums |

Why am i thinking that you need a Treo 650? I think that would cover everything nicely. | |

The BlackBerry 7100 series might also be a good fit.

1. The SKII can sync with Outlook via a 3rd party program (or maybe something Danger cooked up). Anyway, it works. MarkSpace also released a Macintosh OS X compatible sync client this last week that works great. 2. SSH is taken care of via a program called "Terminal" available for $10 on the Sidekick download menu. 3. Since the latest MULTI-CONTINENT outage (and subsequent inclusion on Spamcops spammer list) service has gotten better to the point of me actually using and relying on the device. I'm not a SKII apologist but the thing is actually working correctly and FAST since the outage. Conventional wisdowm and rumour say that T-Mobile put the Fear Of God™ into Danger about screwing up service again... we can only hope. That said, old Sidekick/Hiptop hands will tell you that it's only a matter of time before service goes bad again. Best of luck.
