Default New Sanyo VI2300

Does anybody have any experience with this baby?

http://www.sanyo.com/wireless/handse...productID=1118

Specifically, I am concerned about call quality. Sanyos generally hold call signals superbly, but from model to model it has been "Hit and Miss" between clarity and muffled sound quality.

(I have a Sanyo MM-7400 <LOVE IT> but the Defense Contractor I work for declined my camera permit this year... Damn.)

I'm also interested in battery life.

Anybody talked through one of these babies?

Thanks

I have been waiting for someone else to tell me about this new phone also. Did you purchase one yet, if so how do you like it.

I have it (actually 3 on my account) now since last weekend. I really like it so far. Seems very solid, and overall is an improvement over the 4900 I had before.

Tom, the other day I had a chance to play around with both the LG 125 and 2300 at my local store. Seems like Sanyo could have given the 2300 a better external display. The LG's is much better. What do you think?

Thumbs up Re: New Sanyo VI2300

I have had mine 2 weeks now and really love it, especially the speaker quality and the loud ring tones. The only con I have noticed is the battery life could be better.

Yes, the external display is small, but it serves the purpose (time, signal, who's calling, battery, etc), so I have not found it lacking. I also like the Sanyo interface and the instant take of settings when you make changes. The LG requires a couple of seconds for them to take. I also did not care for the fact that Roaming Only on the LG is mislabelled. It is actually the old Analog setting by all indications...how that got through branding quality control, I have no idea. (Or is there a branding QC at Sprint? ) )

Sprint has never really had a good standard requirement for roaming on their phones. Some work well while others suck. Some prefer digital over analog and some the other way around. I just don't understand it.

Why put effort in is the question really? I have heard that Samsungs roam on 800MHz CDMA better than the Sanyo's do. Is that true? That might be part of the reason.

I like it, but there is no way to remove the "MEMO" from the main screen.
Yes the External display is small but it does the job, the service is great full bars extreme improvement over cingular, better than nextel in most areas of the high desert

Does anyone know if it's possible to silence the little jingle that you get when entering a menu item, without silencing the ringer? (Especially annoying is if you hit the side up/down button while the flip is closed)

Otherwise I like the phone so far.

you have to turn off the key beep. That option is under Settings, Sounds, Ringer/Key volume.
