Hi there! In late December (29th) I bought a Sayno SCP-4900 phone. I've heard that standby time is 384 hours (~16 days). I thought it was an impressive value, but too good to be true. So I keep the phone on all the time. The battery indicator starts to go to the 2/3rd level after just 3 days. It's been 5 days since I recharged the unit and today I discovered it to be dead! This amazed me since I thought I had 16 days. I read the manual that came with the phone and it doesn't say ANYTHING about recharging procedure (apart from the obvious blurb on page 5). I hope that my phone book and security information has not been lost! I'm recharging it but won't know until 5PM if everything's been wiped. :-( Should I take the phone to the dealer (Radio Shack) to have it checked out? Or is this how long the battery lasts? (I'll just remember to charge it more often then) Thanks! |

I've never let my 4900 just sit here to see how long it lasts, but mine lasts about 4.5 days before it needs a recharge. I use about 250 minutes of talk time a week, and don't play any games or surf the internet.

The battery life is extremelly dependant on your use. I get only one day on mine, but average about 100 minutes of talk time, spend a lot of time in low/no service areas and surf the web (as I am now) every night via the dialup cable. I would be amazed to get more than 2 days out of the battery!!!

1 You need to put new battery through few charge/discharge cycles before it reaches maximum capacity. 2 Advertised standby time may be achieved only if the phone is in a sleep mode for the duration. |
