If this happens outdoors I would say you have a bad camera on your phone...if it is happening indoors you will need to manually adjust both the brightness and white balance settings to produce a better picture.

Default sanyo 5500 camera...

Yea well i wanted to believe it was light issues weather outside or insode and light at both. but no matter what i have to agree that the camera doesnt seem to capture as crisp as my 5300 did and i take hundres of pics. i have learned the to take in good lighted areas and it seems im always fighting it with the 5500 and i have had it the day it came out.. so i cant say it is just our to cameras are bad. because my fiance's 5500 is the same way to ironic..

I will agree that images from the 5300 are better than those from the 5500. What I find ironic is that the first picture phone from Sprint still (IMO) takes the best pictures, well over a year after its release. Sprint has since released the Sanyo 8100, Sanyo 5500, Samsung A600, Samsung A620, Treo 600, and the Toshiba VM4050...all which produce pictures that are not as nice as the Sanyo 5300.

took some outdoor pics...looks ok, but not great...they're. better than the indoor ones thats for sure.....I don't use the camera too often, but I also find it weird the the 5300 took such great pics, never really had to fiddle with settings...and over a year later and 2 cam phones later pics are worse?? just my .02 could it be improved with a software update maybe??

i wish an upgrade is the solution but doubt it. camera lens determine the the quality. or could i be wrong.. and ye the indoor pics are always yellowish unless alot of light but i believe alot of my hous elighting puts a yellow tint.. i wish they would just put a rea camera in there lol
