Is there any way on a Sanyo 8100, or a 6200 (how about a samsung a460) to get into a field test mode to see the RF levels?

Yes, there is... if you're a Sprint tech. Otherwise, as far as I know, no. |

I am not responsible for anything you do to your phone in these modes! With that said: Sanyo: ##786, OK, OK, Service Screen. To get out of this mode just repeat what you did to get into it. Samsung: Menu, Settings, Display, 0 (zero), 040793, 1. To return to normal repeat these steps. This will show you the screens for RF on both models. Remember, lower db values are better.

How come it only shows the db level every few seconds, some times not at all? Is there a way to keep it on the screen for longer than the seconds it is now? Also, how do you read what is on the bottom of the screen? Mine says VC21--T--C2 C2 -- --

The best thing to do with the Sanyo phone is to place a call (I usually place one to *2), then the db level will always remain on the screen. I'm not certain what the other info is to be honest, never paid much attention to it, lol.

lol, ok....so as long as your phone keeps sending/recieving date, it refreshes the db level? Also, i couldnt get the code to work on the a460, was that the right code?

I don't know...it works on the A500 and all later Samsungs. If the A460 uses a different method I don't know what it is. Sorry.

AnthroMatt, do you have a similar number that works for the Sanyo SCP-4900?

Try the steps I provided for the Sanyo 8100 on the 4900. If that doesn't work, then I don't know, sorry.
