Default 5300 at Radio Shack

I see Radio Shack has the 5300 for 80 bucks. No rebates or contract stipulations. I know this phone was 300 bucks and has flash and zoom, but since the camera wont really be used, is it still a better phone than the 8100?

Actually it's $80 after rebate and 2-yr agreement, so there are stipulations.

They are starting to phase out the 5300 for the new 5400. I like the 5400 better...it does NOT have a camera. I hear it comes out end of the year or so. It will be $300 or so. I think that is a lot of money, so i'll wait a bit. Did you know........... Sprint does NOT offer credits for trading in your old phone, but if you call them and ask for the credit for new phones what they SOMETIMES will do is give you 50$ credit on your bill. In my case it was like getting 2 months free. Although i never bought a phone, couldnt find one i liked. You can find credits if you ask... it is a competitev business. Soon some law will go in affect that you can change from sprint to at&t AND keep you same number. Once this happens, you should be able to get great deals.

I had a Sanyo 4900 that broke and I still had a year left on my Sprint contract. Sprint wouldn't make me any deals on a new phone so I had to find a phone to use. I went to Radio Shack and bought a refurbished Sanyo 5300 for about $185. It has a full 1 year warrantee so not too bad of a price. I couldn't find a Radio Shack or Sprint store that had a new 5300. They are becoming hard to find. I did find a new 5300 at a camera store in a mall for $300.
