Hi! I just switched from Verizon to Sprint last week, and I am pretty new to the Sanyo's interface plus PCS Vision. I got a lot of info from this site, regarding free ringer/screensaver downloads and what not. Besides the flexibility that Vision and the in-built camera offer me, I found that my phone performs its most basic functions very well. It consistently holds a strong signal every where I go, and its call clarity and reception are excellent. When I first used my phone to call my boyfriend, I thought that I was talking on a landline! Anyway, I also love the pearl white and lavender color scheme. My camera is pretty good, too, in normal lighted areas. Don't get me wrong... Verizon is also good, but Sprint's $60 Free and Clear plan with the PCS Vision deal is more affordable for me. The new plan does not compromise outstanding digital coverage nor equipment at any sort. Sprint's customer support reps were also very friendly in helping me activate my new phone. Since I plan to use Sprint and my Sanyo for two years, I am interested in any suggestions in maximizing my phone's battery life and overall performance. I already did the following in hopes of accomplishing this goal: 1. Switched to Sprint mode from Automatic. 2. Limited backlights to 30 seconds. 3. Limited use of Vision & camera. 4. Used only downloads I needed & erased the ones I don't need. 5. Turned off keypad sounds. 6. Discharged my battery completely and recharged for 12 hours after purchase. Afterwards, I only recharge my battery when the battery meter is empty/low. Please feel free to add to the above! Oh, another thing. If on the new Free and Clear PCS with Vision plan, does Sprint charge you extra $$ or deduct your minutes when checking voicemail messages during peak hours??? Does the same thing apply when contacting customer support at *2? Let me know... and thanks in advance! |

You don't need to run your battery all the way down before you charge it. That helped on the older batteries, but the LiIon batteries give you the flexibility of charging whenever you want w.out messing with the battery life. Another thing you may want to do is put your phone back on SPRINT instead of Automatic. If you happen to drop to a signal other than sprints 1900 mhz, you'll be using more battery life on that signal (esp. analog.) Enjoy |
