Is it true though? is it possible to charge the phone using *the same* USB port as the one you're using for data?

I ask because I have only 1 USB port on my laptop.

I've a older cable and this one doesn't charge the phone, even if you're not using it for data.

any info will be appreciated!

Yes it is true. It is all in the way the cable is made which makes it able to charge the phone.

it's really surprising they sold a half baked cable for 6 mnths when the technology to do simultaneous charge was probably ready & available!
