Hello all, I'm new to this forum so I hope I'm doing this right. Here is my problem I HOPE someone out there can help me!!! First off I had a heck of a time getting the software to work. I'm running Windows 98 SE and I have a Dell laptop. I tried all types of things but could not get the software to work. I tried new drivers and uninstalling and reinstalling, changed settings in the Bios ( i returned bios to previous settings) after 3 full hours what did it for me was disabling the dial up modem that came with the laptop. So one problem solved. This lead me to problem # 2. After connecting with the software I was very surprised how well it all works the connection although alot slower than my DSL at home it is still fast enough for what I want to use it for. I only plan to use it 60 to 120 minutes per week. However I plan to log in and out alot so this problem will be a problem. Now the problem.... after disconnecting I notice the software does not recognize the phone the connection manager stays open but the go button will not come on. So I figured I must disconnect the reconnect the phone to the cable. When I do this the screen goes blue and I get a error message. Even if I completely close connection manager and reopen it once I reconnect the phone the screen will go blue and i get a error message. Here is the message I get. A FATAL EXCEPTION OE HAS OCURRED AT 0028:FF0644C2. THE CURRENT APPLICATION WILL BE TERMINATED. A friend told me to go with Windows 2000 but my argument is that this sftware says it is designed to work with 98 and 2000 and XP. Has anyone had this problem? If you have PLEASE HELP!!!! Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Thrashattack |
