Samsung to Unveil 7MP Phone

That Samsung is aiming to keep itself ahead in the competition among camera phones manufacturers is evident with the announcement of its plans to unveil the 7 megapixel SCH-V770 camera phone.

The phone is similar to the 3MP and 5MP models that the company released last year. However, this model inches closer to being compared to a digital camera with its 3x optical zoom lens and camera-style flash. The phone has a 2-inch colour TFT screen on the other side, which is capable of displaying 320 x 420 pixels. The phone is about 127 x 52 x 27mm and weighs about 180g.

The device integrates several photography functions such as shutter speed, user controllable focal length, shutter priority, aperture priority, manual focus and manual shooting modes.

The camera phone also allows users to attach a wide-angle converter and tele-converter in the front of lens. However, GSM users are in for a disappointment as this latest release from Samsung is a CDMA compatible phone.

It is expected to hit the stores by the first half of this year. However, the company hasn't yet decided on the price for the device.

That picture isn't of the V770, though. That is the picture of the previously-released 5mp phone.

Lol wow... can you imagine getting a call while trying to take a picture and then answering it? What a ridiculous phone!!

Now the real cool thing would be to add bluetooth so you dont have to shove a camera in your ear to talk. Does anyone know if they plan to add a bluetooth capability?

Most likely not. Korea is not big on BT enabled phones.

I was under the impression Samsung was in a bit of a bluetooth war. Do they even have any phone models with bluetooth capability?
