Hello:

Was in a Radio Shack store today, and the salesman was trying to convince
me that the a 670 was a tri mode phone with analog capability
even though Verizon has it listed as "all digital," and NOT tri-mode
capable.

Was he just not knowing what he was talking about, or... ?

Hi Bob, it is digital only, here are specs for the A670

Sounds like your salesman was "new." The a670 is definitely all-digital..

I personally reccommend that nobody should ever buy a phone from RadioShack. They either don't know too much or get you to buy an old phone that they're trying to clear out.

True, also if the phone has a problem, they don't swap it out like a VZW store but instead would send it in for repairs, which means that you would be without a phone for a week or so.

Here's a horror story from RS my friend went through.

He bought an A310 from RS and it was fine for about a year. One day the phone died and wouldn't power on. Brought it in for repairs and RS sent the phone to Samsung. A month goes by and no word from them. He calls and they tell him that the phone was somehow lost in shipment and they replace it with a Motorola T720.

My recommendation would be if you get it at RS but need repairs, go to a VZW corp store.
