Samsung u740 Unlock HELP

My son changed the lock code on his Samsung u740 to keep his little sister from being nosy in his phone, but now he forgot the new code. I called Verizon Tech Support and they told me to use the last 4 of the phone number. I explained that it had been changed and they told me for security the tech in-store would have to unlock it for me. I took it to the store and she informs me that Samsung is the worst phone to get into via backdoor. She tried but couldn't do it. She told me to leave it with her and she would see what she cold fing out, so I left it with her and just crossed my fingers. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it - otherwise my son now has a $150 handheld piece of junk!
