I e-mailed T-mobile last night to get the unlock code, but they told me it would be 24 - 48 hours till I hear back from them. AT&T is waiting for the unlock code for my phone.

I'm planning on calling T-mobile instead. What do I say to them w/o them knowing I'm going with AT&T?

say u want to unlock the phone because u thinking about traveling to europe or asia and want to use the phone.

Why is AT&T waiting for your unlock code? The code is entered on the handset and doesn't involve the AT&T network at all.

Sorry, I missed spoke. AT&T is waiting for me to unlock the code, So they can program it on there network.

So, all I need to say is that I'm going to Europe and they will unlock my phone? That sounds way to easy!
