|  Can I use a serial data cable with the Samsung A460?
I currently have a Samsung 8500 which I connect to my laptop using a serial data cable. This allows me to connect my laptop to the Internet using my Sprint PCS Wireless Web service, which doesn't charge me per KB (like the new Vision plans do) but simply deducts my usage from the minutes in my plan. I would like to know if I can use the same cable to connect to the Wireless Web with the Samsung A460. On many occasions I've seen that the connection cable that's advertised for the A460 is a USB cable, but the Accessories page on Sprint's website says that its (currently unavailable) connection kit requires a serial cable. Does anyone have an answer to this question? Thanks in advance! |

Sorry sprintpcsuser. I had the 8500 and a friend has the a460. The connector for the a460 is different than the 8500. I don't think you can use the same cable.

If i get a usb data cable (not sprint's web connection kit) to connect my a460 to my laptop, will I be able to use the phone as a modem without additional software? Also, will I be able to acces the Sprint Wireless Web Service through my laptop without additional software? |
