I need some help, we have a Samsung A540 on the telus network in Canada, and I need to find and upload a normal sounding ring to it. Something that would work for biz. An old motorola or nokia ring would be fine. Can anyone tell me where to get one and how to get it on the phone?? Can I do this over a cable, or via the built in web?? Thanks in advance. Tony |

Ok, Telus has come to their senses and provided a free ring tone for DL for the A540 (and others???). To get it, turn your phone on, press the right arrow on the 4 way pad. Scroll to downloads (should be highlighted already anyways). Press the OK button Select Get New (Press OK) The phone will connect (if you can't connect call Telus, they may not have turned the service on for you) pick your language scroll down to Free Trial - press ok select Free Ringtone - press ok scroll to simple ringer - press ok Say ok to download The phone will now download the ringer When it says complete Hit end a couple times to log off. You should now be back at your normal menu... press right again and select Downloads - press OK Button Select Manage - Press ok again Select Ringtones (should now say Ringtones(1/5) - Press OK Select Simple Ringer - Press ok to listen to it -- Much better isn't it!! To assign it as your ringer push menut scroll to Assign (or push 3) Assign it to both Calls with Caller ID and without (you have to click Ok on each). Now no more goofy ringer!!! Thanks Telus, buy the phone with some normal ringers in it next time and save us the hassle!! Email with questions... Tony |

Hey Tony, First off, I completely agree with your comment on Telus's pathetic ringtone options. Not many people I know want to hear or use all those cheesy music ringtones that they offer. I have been battling with Telus in an attempt to locate more than the "2" offerings they provide. Do you know or does anyone else know of another location of normal or synthesizer ringtones available for the Samsung A540??? Thanx in advance!!! Tim Quote:
