I will be getting the data kit this week, so I'll let you know. As far as sync with outlook, I think it's a click-drag-drop process. It doesn't automatically sync. If someone knows how to sync automatically, please post.

Wow after fiddling around for 2 hours and ending up with a headache, I can't get things to sync properly. First of all I used two different software. EasyGPRS which you can download off the internet. And Handset manager which you get with the data cable. EasyGPRS syncs with outlook express, which it calls the IE contact book, but doesn't sync with schedualer since outlook express doesn't have scheduals. Phone manager sync with outlooks schedual easily, that's the only good news I've encountered. To sync the phone book you have to export the phone book into a file and read it in to the phone. You'll have to choose what column goes where on the phone and sync it this way. I was confused and even more confused now so if someone have a short cut please post. Thanks. |

By the way, this datacable and software is from 3rd party, just to clarify. I got the USB version. Haven't tried using IrDa with the data suite software yet, I don't have a laptop(working one atleast). Right now the easiest way to sync with MS OutLook is to use the phone data suite that comes with datacable. Atleast that's my opinion. The scheduals sync easily. But the contacts would have to be exported from Outlook as a .csv file. Before you import into data suite, you have to delete all the phone's memory. After which you import into the phone. I've got a pretty large contact list synced using this method. As for the software, I don't think you need to crack or hack it, but it's 400 Mb large, even with the unessentials deleted it's 30mbs and I don't know if it'll work. Also I don't know if it'll work with IrDa. edit*I'm on a 56K modem. |

You got to be kidding me, I've been spending all day trying to upload segments of that software to my yahoo briefcase using 56K. Good thing I gave up after 3 hours. Oh yeah, ofcourse I was working on it full time. |
