Howdy! Hey, RKY60, welcome...
To answer your "what should I know" question, I'd suggest using the search engine on here and first typing in "A310" just to see what catches your eye. Then you may want to read the threads on how to set the "vocoder" (just search for it), or things like ringers or the flashing "Verizon Wireless
" banner. Those things seem to be the hot topics about the phone so far...
If you're interested in more detailed information, Jef has a nice website about connecting the A310 to a PC at: http://www.kazimer.net/phone/A310/
And, I'm working on an A310 page at: http://webpages.charter.net/hideo_a310/samsung.htm
If you go to the A310 page on my site, I have a first cut at a FAQ for the A310 on there... I guess that also might be a good place to start...
And, of course, feel free to ask anybody on here questions as they come to you. There are a ton of great people on here who have lots of knowledge about their respective phones and are usually glad to share (when they aren't ragging on the competitors phones/networks that is, as you got from greggy)...
Enjoy, and welcome!

Howdy!
That means you are in a different area of Verizon
network, but inhere, around Chicago Verizon is loosing a huge bunch of customers. And you know why?? Because their service became poor, quality s......s, and they have "all those towers upgrades" going since last few months. Yeah, my a........ . I was Venison’s customer since 1996, with 5 accounts, and now I can not afford loosing any of my clients because of dropped calls, poor quality or other i.e. voice-box related problems. Already lost few of them. So I switch to Sprint and so far (keeping my finger crossed), in a scale from 1 - 10, where 1 is the poorest, Sprint has 20 and Verizon has 1. This is not only mine opinion, I know many people who did the same thing. Hope everything is OK with your Verizon service.
On the other hand; maybe you are not listening too well?
