Default Samsung S105/S100 Data Cable... Fone Data Suite??? Any good?

Hi All,

I know this topic has been brought up before but I'm hopeful someone has some new info. I just purchased the S105 to replace my 2 month old Q105 (go figure, I buy it two months ago for $200 and now can't even get $100 for it on ebay... GRRR) regardless I very much want the data cable for the S105 (the Q105 even CAME WITH the data cable & software, which of course won't work w/ my new phone... some how I think getting the cable & software with the Q105 was a much better deal then getting a stupid belt clip with the S105 but I digress).
My "official" email response from samsung is that "the data kit for the S105 has not been released, it will hopefully be in the near future" that doesn't sound like a sure thing to me... TMobile was not able to provide me with any information (what's new). I know the overseas version the S100 came with the data kit so I'm suprised it's so hard for us to find either the kit or even a cable; I'd happily purchase one from overseas but that doesn't seem to be an option either.
What I did find: there is a kit for sale by "Fone Data Suite" supposedly for the S100/S105 for $39.99 plus shipping which consists of a cable and their version of software (although I would assume you could still use the softwear you can download from Samsung). I'm about "." close to ordering it, and wonder if anyone else has purchased it and has had any luck. I'd also love opinions on the actual Samsung Data Kit if anyone actually has one... is it worth all the trouble we are going through trying to find it? What is the retail price?

Thank you so much for any assistance, I can also be reached at vcandiv@aol.com

Best Regards,
C. Daitch

Could I ask you where you found the Fone Data Suite for the S105? I've been looking for it but can't seem to find a source.

To answer some of your questions: The Data Kit from Samsung will probably be around $60-$80 when it comes out. It hasn't been released yet and no one knows when. I don't know much about the Fone Data Suite but it should work just like the Samsung Kit.

Thanks.

Default Samsung S105/S100 Data Cable... Fone Data Suite??? Any good?

I decided to order the Fone Data Suite from gadgetgeeks.com. I'm a little concerned purchasing an item not made directly by Samsung but since I've used off brand chargers etc w/o problem I figured it's worth a shot, plus the customer service from the gadgetgeeks was amazing, they answered all my questions quickly & put me a little more at ease. I'll be back to post my opinion of the product as soon as it arrives.

Does anyone know of other sites that offer accessories for the S105? Even TMobile says everything is "sold out" grrrr

Thanks!

The Easy GPRS 2.0.4 software is freely downloadable from the link below and can be configured to utilize the IR port on your phone. If you plan to use Windows 2000, you will need to upgrade to Service Pack 3 in order for the IR sync to successfully work. As for information on the release of the software a data cable, here's the scoop. Samsung screwed up and shipped a large amount of data kits with the 2.0.2 software. However, this is for the S100, not the S105. So, all this time waiting for the data cable and software can be simply attributed to someone at Samsung ordering these kits to be packaged with 2.0.2. How's that for this guy knowing his OWN products. Anyhow, Samsung already has the data kits with the CORRECT software, 2.0.4 in their possesion, it just has to be distributed to vendors. This included the data cable which will be needed for all of us without the luxury of an IR port.

I sell the USB Data Kit for the Samsung S100/S105.
Here is the link to the software site, where I'll even allow you to try out the software or take a tour of it.

Here is the package of what you will be receiving: Samsung USB Data Kit

Here is the software manufacturer website: Handset Manager 6.0 (Fone Data Suite)

This kit has been tested by me, aswell has people I have sold it too. It works great, and even syncs with Outlook.

Please email me if you're interested at: aiwapro@msn.com
