Hi all, I'm a newbie to cell phones and I just purchased the Samsung A460 yesterday and have a couple questions. First, I've noticed that I only get 2 or 3 bars of reception in certain areas while my friends who each have Sprint phones (one new and the other over 2 years old) get full power. Sprint told me that it may take a day or so for the phone to synch with the network, but so far no improvements. Is this common for this phone and could it be defective? Also, has anyone ever tried those so called "signal booster" strips? Just wondering how they work. Also, due to the Sprint rep being a moron, my ringers and more won't work for a while since he signed me up for a business account! Does anybody know what types of ringers are available from sprint for this phone? Hopefully they don't have garbage ringers. Thanks alot in advance!!! |

hey, I got a signal booster for my A500, I thought it made a difference, but a coupla people said that my signal got better because SPRINT put up a new tower in my area, so I guess they don't work. Ringer's and more isn't all that great, they have a coupla cool screen savers and ringers, but other than that, just try it for 3 months and cancel it, save your money. -Yi Chen |

I traded in an A400 for my A460, and I'm REALLy sorry I did. The new serial connector design rendered all my connectivity equipment unusable, the battery life is pathetic, and the thing will NOT hold a signal in the same location(s) where my 3500, 8500 and A400 had no problems. The ONLY nice things are the polyphonic ringer and the external display, which hardly make up for the poor quality. I was thinking of going with an A500, but since I keep hearing so many bad things about that phone -- aside from its beautiful display -- I'll probably move over to Sanyo. BTW, how come no Sprint phones (regular phones, not the PDA-type things) offer either Bluetooth or IrDA? I'd switch to Verizon if I wasn"t in the middle of a contract. |

Signal boosters do not work. I believe they are an ongoign scam. I never had a problem with reception with my old A460. Even though it had 2-3 bars that was fine with calls. I hate how everyone obsesses with "bars". If the phone makes clear calls whats the problem? Ringers and More sucks. Theres like 5 good ringers and they never update it. Try it for 3 months then cancel. |
