They're actually pics of the T100 which is GSM, but the A500 is basically the same phone just CDMA... Thought all you Sprint users might like to see some pics of this very cool phone you will be able to get... Make sure to click on the pages at top to see close ups of the screen. I'll admit...I'm jealous....I want this phone... SGH t100 |

Malial, will Verizon ever come out with a phone similar to Sprint's version????? I just don't understand why the largest Cellular company in the US doesn't have a larger, more....cooler phone selection.

If verizon goes CDMA, then they WILL get the whole range of Samsungs. But until then, they wont get the full spectrum of Samsung phones. Samsung puts most of its money in CDMA technology, which is far superior than GSM or TDMA. But I believe there is a version of GSM for this particular phone in the European market.

from what ive read about samsung they are quite big in the GSM market overseas with handsets.......and noone else will get the a500 or n400 as those are sprints flagship 3g phones and they are sure to have exclusive rights to those handsets.....from what i understand sprint requests certain designs in phones and has a lot of exclusivity deals with manufacturers........whereas a lot of other carriers pick from phones that the manufacturers offer them. |

Great pics! The menu system is very different, the A500 one seems much better. As for Verizon having the A500, it won't happen. A person I know at Samsung said that the A500 is exclusive to Sprint. But my guess is that Verizon will have a phone that is very similar. |

They have the Sharp z800 with a color screen, although it's not a 1X phone, but does have BREW. They also have the Audiovox Thera, but that's a PDA combo deal. I'm thinking with the success of the Motorola V60 series that they may carry the Motorola T720 which is a high end flip, color, 1X phone coming out sometime. They carry a lot of Audiovox, but I was surprised to see the 9500 (flip, color, 1x) is only dual mode. Maybe they will have a tri-mode version of that. On my T300 group, one of the regulars talks frequently with the developer of the T300 and he was told that Samsung is producing a lot (almost solely) 1X TFT color display phones. I wouldn't be surprised to see something similar to the A500 on Verizon eventually...But that's probably a big "eventually." I think Verizon invests more in their network than in their phones...They are know for having very rigorous testing before releasing a new phone...It's the trade off...Better phone selection, not as good network...Better network...Not as good phone selection... Alas..The grass is always greener on the other side... |

well although i am a sprint user i'd say tis more important for a better network than a sweeter phone......i've had some positive experiences with verizon lately that are making them seem like a better and better choice as a carrier.......but man...i do love my phone

The only difference that I can tell is that the T100 seems to have a speakerphone on the front when it is closed, whereas the A500 does not Mark |

Verizon is suppose to be offering the T720 late august, where is it. And also the Toshiba 4500 was supposed to be released in the third quarter. Does anybody know about when these phones will be available.
