Exclamation Text MSG problem

Ok, so if you set the txt msg to "T9 Word" can someone tell me how to type in the word "boy" because if you do it will type in the word any and not boy.

On my old 720 i could tell it what i want the starting letter to be by clicking up or down, i cant seem to be able to do so here. So, any other tricks on how to have it select a different word than what it thinks it should be?

after you type the keys for boy (and its showing up as any) press 0 (the key with the circling arrow) to switch thorugh other words for that combination. my guess is that boy is the very next option.

In other words, press 2690

I just tested this and it shows up as boy.

Isn't that more or the same hassle as just typing it letter by letter? I hate using t9.

I used to hate T9 until I figured it out. Now I can't live without it. Makes typing 100 times faster, especially on long words.

I've never used it myself, but I just realized something...if you typed out "boy" on ABC mode...

B = 2 key punches
O = 3 key punches
Y = 3 key punches

on T9

B = 1 key punch
O = 1 key punch
Y = 1 key punch

0 to scroll....

Hmmm....maybe I need to switch to T9 mode?!

It's much easier

to type boy conventionally
22666999

with t9
2690

Half as many keystrokes.

T9 is especially better when you are typing words that have multiple letters in a row on the same number, like money. eg
conv-> 6 pause 666 pause 6633999
T9-> 66639

soooooo much easier

The key (IMO) while learning how to use T9 or iTAP is to remember not to look at the screen until you are done typing the word otherwise you will probably end up getting confused.
