the normal ringtone format is MIDI. People may have gotten other formats to work as well....

If you're interested in the phone, just read all the reports and you should get a pretty accurate picture of the phone...

I like Samsung's and how they are laid-out too. It's a shame I always seemed to pick their worst models when I did use Samsung though. I stopped by a Verizon kiosk this weekend to see the a530...I actually thought it was a little too small. lol

I have all my numbers either voice tagged or speed dial, so I don't find that a problem, but to punch the number with my thumb while holding the phone can be a little tricky. What actually makes the phone easier to handle is using the extended battery. It sticks out about 1/4 inch from the back and gives you a place to put your index finger and makes for a nice hold. It has the added bonus of making the vibe a little stronger...Let's face it...3 oz. just doesn't shake back and forth very forcefully... The other thing about this phone, is that if you play a lot of games, I wouldn't recommend it. The size makes it hard to play for extended periods because you have to hold your hand all scrunched up, and the screen has a slow refresh rate, so you get some tracers...The 4400 was definitely a better gaming phone. But..I play games maybe 10 minutes a day while I'm on a "break"....so it's not an issue for me.

That was the problem I had with the v60 I ended up giving to my wife to use. If I was on the phone (not even playing a game) for more than 10 minutes my hand got all cramped up because it was so small. I tend to agree with you about the extended battery making phones feel better. I thought this was the case with the VX4400 and the Audiovox 9500 as well.
