Hi Leave your phone off and run the program up to the part where it says "power on mobile" then press power button once on your phone and it will upgrade it. |

V205 to V200 Firmware Upgrade Instructions 1. Download the firmware at http://www.mobilz.org/free/Samsung/V20x/v20x.rar (You will need the WINRAR program to unzip this file. The Winrar program can be obtained at http://www.rarlab.com. 2. BACKING UP YOUR V205 FIRMWARE (Prior to doing all these steps, take out your SIM card and make sure your phone is off). A. Unzipped these files to a folder. Open the optiflash.exe file and go to Options=>Settings=>Read. Clear all the information from the Read Range field and add the following: 0x00000000 - 0x00000617 0x00004000 - 0x00007a43 0x00010000 - 0x00567957 0x00700000 - 0x00cbd67f B. You can save the file to whatever name you want in the Save File field. The default name is save.sre. Click OK C. Go the Com Port tab and for the first Comp Port select the correct port that your datacable is connected to. For the second COM Port select none. D: Go to the Generic tab and select Customer T1, V200 in the Specify Hardware Platform field and press OK and it should bring you back to the Optiflash - [Default] box. E: Connect your phone to the datacable and click on the Read button. Then press the power button on your phone. *Note that your phone will not be on but the program should start backing up your rom. F. After this is done you should get a message that says "All is well" in the log. G. Next detach your phone from the datacable and take out your battery for about ten seconds and then put your battery back on. H. Next go to File open and select the file that you just saved (save.sre or whatever you called it) and press the Verify button. If it verifies 100% it will say "All is well". If you cannot pass this step, I highly recommend that you do NOT continue with the firmware upgrade. I. If you were successful with step H, detach your phone from the datacable again and take out the battery for about ten seconds and put the battery on after that. Now you are ready to flash your firmware. 3. FLASH (firmware upgrade) A. Go back to the Optiflash window. Go to the Options=>Settings and select the Flash and Verify tab. B. In the File to Load or Verify field, select the V20XEWC2.s3 ROM (it should be in the v20x folder. C. In the Reserve Memory regions, make sure everything there is blank. Click OK. D. Attach your phone again to the datacable and press the Flash button. Then press the power button on your phone. (Note that your phone will not power on but the program should start running). This process took about 15-20 minutes on my phone. When it is done it should say "All is well" in the log. E. Detach your phone from the datacable and take out the batter for about ten seconds. Then put the battery back on and power up your phone. F. When your phone is back on, punch in these codes: (Note that after each code is entered, your phone will go blank for about 1-2 seconds then it will come back on again.) *2767*STACKRESET# <====*2767*7822573738# *2767*MEDIA# <====*2767*63342# *2767*FULL# <====*2767*3855# *2767*CUST# <====*2767*2878# *2767*WAP# <====*2767*927# YOU are done flashing your ROM. Other Configurations: 1. In Network Services=>Network Selection=>Manual====>Choose T-Mobile and select OK. 2. In Network Services=>Band Selection=>Select GSM 1900 If you subscribe to T-Zone you need to do the following: T-Mobile GPRS Setting 1. Go to Menu=>Funbox=>WAP Browser=>Settings 2. Edit Profile 1 with the following Info: Profile Name : Whatever you want to name it. Homepage URL : http://wap.myvoicestream.com Security : Non-secured IP Address : 216.155.165.50 Bearer : GPRS Username : (leave it blank) Password : (leave it blank) APN : wap.voicestream.com After this is set up, you should be able to get on to t-zone by just pressing the t-zone button on your keypad T-Mobile MMS Setting Go to Menu=>Picture Messages=>MMS Profile Edit Profile 1 with the following Info: Profile Name: Whatever you want to name it. Connection URL: http://216.155.174.84/servlets/mms Security: Non-secured IP Address: 216.155.165.050 Username: (leave it blank) Password: (leave it blank) APN: wap.voicestream.com instructions i used from a different forum. and they work perfectly. |
