Haha, XprtCop and I just spent a lot of time talking about this...ok, basically I've been playing around with this, and was going to post on Howard Forums when I got it, (I made the A530 GAGIN FAQ over there, so I was going to add to it), but I had no luck So here's where I'm at. CMX Studio is awesome for creating ringers, I've got like 5 or 6 on my A530 right now. My favorite I made was 21 Questions, sounds really good. Anyway, I digress. So the limitation of this is that it can ONLY be assigned as a main ringer, and to the alarm. Nothing else, no phonebook, no voice mail, no data/fax, nothing. So, I wanted to work around that. I thought, well...since .qcp's only play out of the earpiece, that's out. So I decided...why not rename the .pmd to a .mid? So I did just that, and had interesting results. It treated the .mid as one would expect, however it would only play the first like 10th of a second. Very interesting. So I call that partial success, but not enough. So I thought well...why not rename the .qcp to a .mid? Maybe that would "trick" the phone to play it through the speaker. No dice. Still played as a normal .qcp through the earpiece, which gave rise to new questions... Why would the .qcp play as a .mid, and not the .pmd? And why would the .mid of the .qcp still play through the earpiece...anyway, if anyone comes up with answer, I would really be happy! By the way, you can normally catch a lot of people discussing phones and crap over on irc.liquidirc.com #phonephreakz. Peace |
