A530 comming JULY??

i just went to RadioShack, and i talked to manager there...
i talked him about A530 about 2-3 days ago..and by that time, he didn't have any idea of what that phone is...
today, he told me he will get info. for A530 about June, and he will start selling one from July

does this sound reasonable?? because if the phone comes out after that... this phone will be OUTDATED!!!
i'm just getting VX4400 or other LG phone comming out(i think...) cuz my contract ends june..

well?? anybody?? I know this is like.. one of 1000 post for A530. but yeah..

The A530 is vaporware. LG's VX4400 has more features, equally compact & quite reliable by most standards and a top seller with many highly satisfied VZW users. July 2004 (oops, maybe 2003) is a reasonable target date for its release, if ever - but it's outdated already by other ANNOUNCED release.

The Moto V60x should be out by June and the V810 will be out later in the year - 256k color, 1X, BREW, EMS, MMS, and even camera. LG will be releasing another compact color CDMA phone in Q2, 2003. Might as well play the chase game on these phones.

On a side note, CNN quoted sources at the Pentagon that the coalition will win the war in Iraq real soon. No specific date, but in the very near future. The outcome is certain, according to President Bush.

Sound reasonable too, when I asked a trusted feng shui advisor - fortune teller that Donald Trump relies on for sound advice & predictions.

I went to the verizon store in cerritos california and they told me samsung 460 is coming to verizon. The lady and a man I talked to said they haven't heard anything about a530 but did hear 460 with color screen is to hit the store in april. Does anyone know anything about this particular phone?

my mom just got a VX4400... i'm playing around with it right now..

deng.. this phone is NICE!! i still have some contract days left so i'm fine w/ everything now..

just my stupid A310 can not download any song and it has BAD ring tones... haha~~

i'm just thinking right now VX4400 is kinda lil too big compare to A310 i have right now...
i thought A530 is suppose to be slimmer then VX4400..am i right??

I would go witha 4400 or something else that is coming out in the next few months, by the time the 530 gets to market it will already be outdated. If you want a smaller phone now, get a v60i or wait until next month for the v60x, if you have to have color, go with the 4400.

I agree with you, it makes sense. It seems like people are "too much" into this cell phone when there are people dying outhere and kids being blown up...ahhh...

Listen people, when you are dead, that "material cell phone" won't do you any good, even if u are burried with it, it won't be of much use!

Imagine for a moment, our troops now in or around Iraq would love a simple hot shower, warm bed, and a working phone line (wired or wireless) so that they can speak to their loved ones at home. Don't matter whether it's a Motorola, LG, Audiovox, Nokia, Samsung or Sony/Erisson, etc. - let alone the specific model or how compact it is. My A310 is fine and my wife still don't want to tradeup the TM510 to a newer phone even if something like the A5xx is already out.

The 460 series is for Sprint's PCS but it's possible (anything is POSSIBLE) a version is coming real soon for Verizon. I'll text message Donald Trump's fung sui advisor - fortune teller and ask whether it's reasonable since I didn't find anything useful on cnet.com or phonescoop.com.

On a more serious note, rather than chasing the ghosty vaporware, our troops would love to get email from us, showing our support - over 10 million messages already send oversea. Links can be found at www.reuters.com - among other places.

Listen, I think that there are two things we need to do: 1.) support our troops and realize what we have and 2.) Maintain Life as normal as possible. We cannot stop everything, relate everything to the war, even though it is very important.

Just thought everyone should know, last week I talked to (on the phone) the sales division of verizon and the guy answering the phone told me samsung a530 will be out sometime this year and it is going to be trimode. Of course he could be wrong but he sounded so sure. Take that any way you want. I myself am getting VX4400 monday. I would have gotten it earlier but the guy I am buying from ran out of stock and it is coming in on monday.

oh come one huedaphone...you have waited this long dont settle...its going to be like a month maybe 2 at the most, no one has been more on top of this thing than you it seems, the guy you talked to sounded far more uninformed than anyone on these boards...the phone is going to come out in the timespan of the next 2 months...im holding out and not settling for that generic LG crap...I bought it back in feb and was not impressed in the least...even if the a530 has the same features, at least it will be small...that LG aint small.

Sorry to break it to you, but the A530 is a LOT smaller than the VX4400.. If you have ever seen the Vader 8160, the A530 is like that but even thinner. It's like 70% the size of the V60I, and the VX440 is like 120% the size of the V60I. Oh yea, I know because I was at CES and got to hold the phone and even use one from a Samsung person (who was testing it at the time).

The Samsung product manager at the time described the standard battery life to me in ways that I felt it was going to be similar to what I experience on the v8160 -- you should never kill the battery during the day if it's recharged, but you probably won't get two full days of normal use either. That said, if you value battery over size, there'll be the included bigger battery.

He also said -- in the 2nd week of January -- that the phone would be out in March or April. So far, that hasn't been refuted.

Sorry Jamoses, but enough is enough. I have waited as long as I could but now it's time to move on. After all, there are more important things in life to concentrate on. Thanks for thinking of me though. If I regret for getting vx4400 over a530 I am sure it's only going to be year or two before I can switch phone again.

dont do it huedaphone, your gettin the lg out of frustration a lot of people are saying april 17th. I honestly feel this phone will be out no later then mid june you waited this long hold out a little longer. My contract is up april 10th that would be perfect if that phone comes out the 17th.

Ive joined the ranks of those who say shut up about this phone. I got hooked, and sat with my t720 for too long. I just got the 4400, and holy jesus am I happier than a pig in sh*t. This phone is everybit as good as ther 510, and they made every advancement ever asked at that time in the phone, and many more. Go buy the 4400, quit waiting, its not worth it when theres a great phone already in the stores. Especially if you got a moto, drop kick that inferior phone to the toilet, call verizon, and tell them you want an LG. It toomk me 2 days of complaining to the CS people, and a store manager, but I got the to trade me, after explaining as much technical jargon as I read from these boards over the last 6 months. People, it can and will happen if youre persistant.

I work for an indirect agent for verizon wireless and the a530 was approved by verizon on march 30 2003. I am pretty sure that the phone will come out on April 15. The indirect order site will be closed from april 11 through april 14 and opening on the 15th. When the site shuts down it is ususally because they are getting new product and they close to do inventory. Also somemore possibilities for the 15th are the Kyocera 7135 and 2325 and the Blackberry thing. If the a530 doesnt come out on the 15th look for it in June when Verizon starts their all digital plans. I became a member of this site today only because I wanted to post this so that you guys could have some reliable info and quit reading all that junk that cellman and whoever else makes up. Hope this helps you guys out and if the a530 doesnt come out on the 15th sorry for getting your hopes up.
