While it is said that the Lithium-Ion battery life is not affected by the amount of time you charge or when you charge, but from personal experience, it does matter. For the past 2 weeks, I have been experimenting with the different methods of charging my v205. Most of the times, I charged it after the battery completely died out. As a result, the phone stayed alive for 3 and half days with semi-active usage. The only 3 times that I tried charging it while it had 1 or 2 bars left, the phone only lasted for only 36, or even 24 hours with the same amount or even less active usage during the days. Has anyone else experienced this?

Well, I have a T720 and it has regularly been charged every day. The charge has not gone below all three bars in a single day but I have still charged it and on those couple of weekends when I didn't take the charger with me the phone lasted from Friday morning until Monday morning with over three hours of talking and not turning the phone off at all. It doesn't really seem any different if I let it drain either. I have a second battery that I have followed that type of use, only charged when empty(at least at first) and it has had no advantage either. I haven't really done this kind of test recently, but I'll check it out this weekend and see... Yesterday I used 2hrs(I know that's alot!) and the phone went back on the charger with 3 of 3 bars of battery! Not bad eh? |

I heard you should't ever fully discharge a Li-Ion battery.... Here's an interesting article: http://www.batteryuniversity.com/partone-5.htm |

I just tested it again. Tuesday night I charged it while it had 1 bar left. I unplugged the adapter wednesday morning, and today(Thursday) morning, the low battery warning is flashing. That's less than 24 hours.

hi That's right max... even i did notice that but i never did try it... I usually charge for the whole night and it goes for more than 36 hours... I am not still sure does charging all night affect the life of the battery I had a N105 and I used to do the same thing ... that battery is still going good. |
