Default S105 Sending a Text Message to an E-mail address

I noticed that although the S105 allows you to add an e-mail address to the phonebook, you can not send a text message to that e-mail address directly.

If I select the phone book after composing a text message I get a message "WRONG ENTRY." I can not find a way to enter an e-mail address manually after composing a text message; I can only enter a phone number.

However, if someone e-mails my phone number I can respond to it. So you can just save the message if you need to send a text message to someone's e-mail at a later time. In other words, in order to text message some's e-mail address s/he would of had to have sent you a text message via e-mail before and you would have to have that message saved. Which seems kind of silly.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is some thing that's not in the manual and had to discover on my own. For example, no where in the manual does it say that you can have more than one memo for a given day on the calendar. But then I found out that I can add multiple memos for one calendar day if I import them from the TO DO list.

You can't use the email address in the phonebook of the s105, but you can still send email using SMS.

Default S105 Sending a Text Message to an E-mail address

I went to the link you posted, but I didn't see the S105 shown.

How do I do this for an S105?

The only way I see is to use Text Messaging is to go in to messages in the S105 menu. BUt if I go to send a message I am forced to enter a phone number when I go to send a message.

If you read the information in the link I sent you, you would have learned the following.

You can send email via SMS by:
1. Creating a new SMS message (Menu -> Messages -> Write Message)
2. Type in email address first
3. Add a space, then type in the subject line
4. Add a # sign, then type in message
5. Select "Options"
6. Select "Send Only"
7. Send destination: 500

All that information was available on that page. All you had to do was read it.

Default S105 Sending a Text Message to an E-mail address

Thanks for the explanation. I have been wondering how to do this on my Motorola GSM phone. I can set up the message type as email. but I could never figure out how to address it - until now!!

With my SCH A310, it is easy since the address book has email address entries and you can select the address book to address the message.
