do i need vcast to listen to my mp3s on my SCH-a950 trans flash

i can not figure out how to listen to mp3s on my phone, i put the songs into the MY_MUSIC FOLDER, but they dont show up on the my music part of the phone

No you don't. Atleast I know you don't need vcast when you transfer songs with a data cable. I am sure it is the same way with a memory card.

The latest software version of the a950 had mp3 playback disabled. The mp3 player is still installed on the phone, but you can enable it in the following way:

With the wall paper showing, just type in 1475369126874#* this will bring up an enable/disable option, select enable and hit ok.

Now go into the Get It Now menu (probably just hitting the right arrow will get you there) and hit 0. Now type the last four digits of your phone number.

Go to MP3 Menu Item, hit OK, and select enable. There you go!

You will have to put mp3's into the MY_MP3s folder if you use a transflash card(I'm not sure about using a usb cable), and play them by going to My Mp3's in the tunes and tones menu. You can only play wma's in the vcast player, and only mp3s in the mp3 player. To switch which one opens when you use the external play button, go to Settings and Tools > Tools (notice the mp3 player link at the bottom)> Shortcut Key > Play Key
