Walmart has ringtones like: We Pay You Very Little To Rollback Prices We Are Taking Away All MA and PA Stores Walmart sells guns to kids (remember that one in 1995) We Do Ecomonic Dumping From Time To Time We Were Once Ben Frankiln, Now We Buy Them Out! We ID You For a Can Of Air To Clean Your Computer We Will Be #1 In Mexico Some Day (En Espaņol) We Are Not Allowed To Be In agentHibby's Hometown Since 1985 Extras! We Do Help The Community We Do Offer Charity We Do Help The Less Fortunate I know some of these things are NOT true but Walmart is known for doing them.

You can grab 30sec mp3 clips in the music section--the samples for CDs you can buy online. Not labelled as ringtones, but great for your phone. They even come with fade-in and -out.

yeah like ^ said you just find the song you want and listen to the sample if you like it right click and "save target as" rename to whatever you want and it will download and you can upload it to your phone

I also use a program called mpTrim. In conjunction with Winamp, I can turn a full song into a custom ringtone complete with fade-in and out. I also use dMC for ripping mp3s off cds.

i cut space where ever I can, change it to mono output, lower the sample rate, lower the birate... sample rate = between 15k and 22k birate = 48 typically. |

use Wavepad ( free for personal use) as listed here: http://www.funformobile.com/pages/help/helpHow.php it is the best and easiest tool for making your own ringtones ( mp3, mmf, qcp, wave) from your cd tracks, mp3 collections, and free songs from WWW in my opinion. |

I use BitPim to transfer data to/from my phone and it includes software to lower the mp3 bitrate. I usually use 32kbit and 22050Hz mono. And remove the ID tag to save some room. There are all kinds of tools available for this--just get on Google.

i think you are going to the mp3 sales section of walmart... Go to "CD Store" not "Music Downloads"

If you have the song on your phone, there should be an option to make it the default ringer for everyone or custom for specific contacts.

I figured I'd give this Wal-Mart thing a try since I got the Email working on my phone. I noticed that when I emailed a Wal-Mart 30 sec MP3 clip to the phone and applied it as a ringtone it was already reduced to 8k/sec mono. I have a Motorola V551, and my service is Cingular. I emailed it to my phone from a Hotmail account. The question is who, or what resized and resampled the MP3? Did Cingular do it, or did the phone do it? I don't think Hotmail would change the file, just scan it for viruses. In any event I didn't have to do anything to the MP3 clip to convert it to a ringtone. Later, Jay
