need ringtone for nokia phone

i used to have a ringtone on my old phone, it was a 6101 i believe. a silver phone, not a flip phone. anyway the ringer i had on it and would like to find anywhere for my newer phone is called nostalgia and it is a mp3 type. i cant even manage to find it from the nokia people in the store

I have a Nokia 6101 and it is a flip phone. Could the actual model you are thinking of, be different? Some older models do not support MP3 ring tomes.

6101 is a flip/clamshell design phone.

I have several ring tones available on my yahoo group including "nostalgia."

Go to the files section and look for ring tones. They are in MP3 format.

This sounds like the Nokia 6010. This was a non flip, silver color phone that was sold a few years ago.

thanks everyone for the replies, i appreciate it. actually I probably have the phone type number wrong, because when I went to the nokia store and found the phone and the ringtone to show the salesperson, i noticed it was definitely NOT a flip. it is silver. it is the kind of phone they will give you with no deposit or payment in the beginning of any kind. actually a good phone, i probably should have kept it.

also i went to the place listed above and i found it!!!however, i cant figure how to do anything with it, except play it on the provided player.

If your computer has Bluetooth you can send it to the phone by making your phone's Bluethooth discoverable and then just send the file directly to your phone. Otherwise you'll likely need a data cable. Your phone is Bluetooth capable so that would be the easiest way to go. If your computer doesn't have Bluetooth you can get a Bluetooth "dongle" so that it can use Bluetooth.

hello telekom, please bear with me, how do i make a bluetooth 'discoverable' also, about the getting a 'dongle', can you briefly shed light on what it is, where one gets it etc. your help is greatly appreciated, i also at another forum found someone who is going thru this same process and im passing it all along to him. thanks so much. girardo

sorry to reply again, but i forgot someting, my computer is old, has xp home edition, i suspect i can go the data cable the easiest. i have cable internet and modem, it is road runner service.i dont know if its dsl or faster or slower.but i suspect the data cable may be the easiest for me, but i still appreciate any leads or info on the items that are aforementioned. thanks girardo

I may have assumed that you had a Bluetooth capable phone. I'm not sure you mentioned what the make a model of phone you have as well as the carrier you use. These can make somewhat of a difference. If your phone is not one that has Bluetooth the suggestions that I made are really not applicable for you. Give a bit more detail about the brand and model of your phone as well as who is your carrier and someone may be able to better advise you.

TELEKOM, I think you will be able to help me. My phone is blue tooth capable it is a nokia 6103 and my carrier is tmobile.also someone said they just go to their mobile phones browser, enter the address where the ringtone and ringer is found, put the address in your browser(i have full internet access , as i pay extra for it, not just a few limited sites such as comes with the phone for purchases and im's)one spot the ringtone is is at geocities something. i entered that address in my browser and h it download, it just dissapperaed and i couldnt find anything, but there was a suggestion from the browswer suggesting some ringtones that they gave considering my address i searched for.however it didnt give the same result as when y ou go there on your computer. when you do that, you get the player and can play the ringer and thats all y ou get.the phone's browser seems to lead nowhere really it just comes up with a resulted suggestion or two on ringers as aforementioned. anyway, any new ideas? thanks so much girard

OK, since you do have Bluetooth on the 6103 you should be able to transfer any tones to your phone from your computer if you install a Bluetooth dongle on your computer. You can get one at any major computer store.
