I just paid 49.99 for the data cable so i could transfer a bunch of new ringtones to my phone, but the software in the Nokia 3589i for verizon will not allow me to do so!!!!!! I am so anrgy!!! you can download new wallpapers but no ringtones!!!!!!!!!! I hate verizon for doing this!!!! If i am doing something wrong and someone has been successful in transferring ringtones via data cable let me know!!! thanks. sberb2468@aol.com |

Any luck with the ringtones? I just got the phone and was looking to purchase the cable just for ringtone download. Will I be wasting my money?

That's because Verizon wants you to pay through Get It Now I guess...that stinks. The Sprint phone (3588) has no browser but can use the data cable, the Verizon phone has a browser but can't use the data cable. Somewhere there must be a complete phone...maybe the 3586 from USCC? MobiMB works with the data cable[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] I have copies of e-mails between myself and Verizon regarding the issue, I'm still pursuing having them enabling the option on the phone. |

yeah the nokia software can't upload it to the phone with the dku5. just found out myself. well at least wallpaper works [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] adding salt to wound, i paid $27 shipped for my cable [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] |

gudel, try to sell your data cable to a Sprint user since it will work on the 3588i.

Can anyone tell me does it make a difference if I buy the authentic Nokia data cable DKU-5...or will a one from ebay for 10 bucks to the same thing with using MobiMB? All I want is to be able to transfer some ringtones and some wallpapers from my computer to the phone. Any advice or instructions from some fellow 3589i users out there????
