subsidy number to use UK phone in Jamaica

hello everyone i am new to this forum and seeking a little help i have a razor phone i got from england and i am living in jamaica it picks up very well but when i insert yhe digicel sim card it is asking for subsidy number can anyone help me please?

If you're trying to insert a Jamaican SIM in your UK phone (Orange, O2, T-Mobile etc.) it won't work because your phone is locked to the carrier where you bought the phone e.g. Orange, O2, T-Mobile etc. In order to use the Jamaican SIM you'll need to get the unlock code from your home carrier or have someone who's in the unlock business unlock it for you. Otherwise you cannot use a SIM that's not from your home carrier.

And BTW, a razor's what you use to shave your face (or other body parts.) A Razr is what Motorola calls their (soon to be) five year old model flip phone.

You may also be able to "remote unlock" your phone. There are places on the net where you can buy unlock codes for Mot handsets.
