For various reasons I have replaced my Motorola phones several times. First there was V262 and then there was e815, and now there is RAZR V3a. Motorola will be sending me a new V3a in a couple of days (warranty replacement).

Here's my problem, and I know I'm not the only one with this grief. I can save the contacts and phonebook to my PC using Motolola PhoneTools software and then restore them to the new phone, or I can have the nice AllTel people do that. BUT, I am continually - with each swapout - LOSING the RINGTONES (and GAMES too!) that have been DOWNLOADED at significant expense.

I'm not asking to hack into Motorola to get something illegal. And, I'm not asking to give it to someone else that hasn't paid for it. All I want is to be able to transfer the stuff that I've already paid for, from one Motorola phone that is mine to its replacement. Doesn't seem fair that I am denied access to that which I own.

I've asked the Alltel folks every time if there's not some way they can get my ringtones and games off of the "old" phone, and they always say, "Sorry, no."

Any solution?
