Desperate, V3M Freezing w/ P2K Commander

Trenscend 2GB Micro SD card (yes i realize now it will only work to 1gb )

Hey Guys,

Im rather new here and have been looking around trying to figure out an issue for my phone here, Im trying to do Seem edits but every time I am in P2K Commander and I try to pull up my phones files (a / p2k mobile phone or P2K: Mobile Phone... You get the point) It freezes up completely and never comes back from "Not Responding" Now this would seem like an issue that it continually is searching for the phone and its never going to find it because its not connect right but I've done everything i can find to get it connect correctly. (Listed below)

- Mini USB Cable to USB (Phone to Computer) on Back USB port
- Motorolla Software Update (MSU) installed and updated (although it claims there were never any new updates: i.e. "There is no software update currently available for your mobile device. Please check back for new realeases." & I dont believe it ever said "New Software installed" the first time I ran it)
- Motorola USB Device Appears in Device Manager w/(this shows its finding it correctly)
- W/ Sub Catagories Under "Motorola USB Device"" as Accessories Interface, Data Logging MCU Interface, Test Command Interface... in that order
- Plugging USB Cable into Computer, Then Phone into Cable, Then opening MSU, Then Opening P2K Commander, and sometime P2K Commander & P2K Seem

Then once I've Done all that (which is correct seeing to the instructions of everyone on these forums) I pull down the window for P2K Mobile Device and it freezes, it also freezes If I try to copy anything at all.

Its one big mess and I could really use some help, My whole goal in the end is to get the phone to be USB Mass Storage device, as stated and shown how in this thread:

Also, Could someone tell me, If I am in P2K Seem Editor and configure all the settings in that and save the backup of the file as per this thread: Mark_Venture's Verizon Phone Info Page

Will that Back Up any files i could damage that would result in the phone becoming a "expensive paperweight"? Im just saying do i need to use P2K commander to backup the files or can i do all the backing up of (that file or all the files preferably) with P2K Seem Editor?
