| Hello, The last few weeks my Sprint RAZR has been acting up. It's approximately 1.5 yrs old. Yesterday the problem became a lot worse and I am now unable to make outgoing calls. The problem started with the calendar feature. I had used it to set an appointment reminder, and even after I dismiss the reminder, it comes back again less than a second later. I have tried deleting the appointment & all other appointments. The phone now pops up an empty reminder. I've turned the phone on/off & removed the battery for 2 minutes as suggested by Sprint tech support. No luck. Any ideas? I have set the reminders to silent, so my phone no longer continually beeps because of the stuck appointment reminder. So, now I can get incoming calls fine. However, when I try to make an outgoing call, or do anything else with audio (changing a ringer, etc.) the reminder audio starts playing over and over again until I quit out of that function. It seems to be that the phone does not even receive the audio from the outgoing call I make, or that the reminder beep takes priority and covers it up, so I cannot hear anything from the person I'd be calling. Sprint suggests that I do a hard reset on my phone, which means I'd lose my contacts & ringer. I would really like to find a way to back up the content of my phone before doing the hard reset, especially the contacts. I have been trying to sync the Razr to my computer (PowerBookG4, Mac OS X 10.5.2), but have not been able to get that to work. I tried the procedure at www.whopack.com without success. I'm not sure if BitPim is the right tool either, but I tried that as well and it was unable to find my phone. Suggestions please? |

| Well firstly you should not be using BitPim. I'm not sure if there are equivalents for the mac, (without using WINE) but you want Motorola Phone Tools and P2KCommander. I had the same problem you're talking about at one point, and I did in fact have to do a master reset. I don't know what happened to the site, but if it ever comes back up you want to go to hacktherazr.com. I would also recommend howardforums.com. My razr v3m is currently using Alltel firmware (NCR_01.1A.00R) on Sprint. The Sprint firmware was very slow in response (you could press a key and count to 3 before it actually displayed on screen) and did not have the features I wanted. You should also read up on doing SEEM edits to enable some of the other features on the V3M, such as Vibe then Ring, USB as Drive, etc. I take no responsibility if you brick your phone tho. Wyn |
