Son's razr announces "Verizon Wireless" every now and then

HELP

I had a razr for a couple years.. my son lost his other cell so I upgraded him to a razr since I figured he'd like it better than his other phone.

Every now and then it will announce "Verizon Wireless". It will do it with the razr open or shut, while sitting on a table.. maybe when it's checking for a signal or something?

Anyway - I keep forgetting to call Verizon about it so I figured i'd ask here.

Anyone have any ideas??

I think that is the ERI, enhanced roaming indicator. On some phones, the phone can be set to announce what network you are on, in the case of Verizon phones, it can announce Verizon Wireless or Extended Network. This can be shut off by going into the settings menu and looking for the ERI option. I'm sure some one with a RAZR can chime in on the exact steps

On my VZW Razr all you have to do is go to the settings and tools menu and talkting phon and then set ERI off.
