Wink Should I trust Verizon Pix Place on my Razr Phone?

I have just spent over 2 hours with Verizon, with not much success I might add, and still get 100 different answers re: pictures on my Razr phone and how to get them off and to another safe place.
First, I am at 99% memory with only 180 pix on it and started trying to E-Mail the pix to myself. Got 1/180 picture E-Mailed, then decided to E-Mail it again (another story about E-Mailing a pic from my phone to my E-Mail, then deleting it, but went to E-Mail message and NO ATTACHMENT to open!! Lost pic of grandson and was furious!! So I check E-Mail FIRST to make sure pix is attached, THEN delete from Razr phone).
2nd time I sent same 1/180 pic, it now told me the attachment was too large to send???? So how did it send the 1st time around? Then I went to pix 2/180, tried to send it to my E-Mail and said same error message. Called Verizon Tech who told me I am out of memory (I pay extra $10 for Unlimited text msgs + 500 more text to non-Verizon people, so why do I only have 22-23 Mb memory to do all of this??), and told me I have to buy a MIcro SD memory card for $10-$20 anywhere, not just at Verizon.
I am sooo frustrated. I have sent this many pix to my E-Mail before, and even upgraded for the extra $10 per month, but still cannot tsf my pix OUT and to my E-Mail.
I have never used Pix Place because I have heard of the Verizon proprietory holds on pics placed in there, so staying clear of that place.
Anyone with success at Pix Place?
Do you have to use a Memory Card when memory full on phone?
Any other methods/websites of transferring pix from Razr phone to E-Mail or exteranal drive on computer?
What pixel size do you use on your digital cameras before E-Mailing or downloading them to someone else or to yourself? (Seems, per Verizon today, my pictures taken with my Razr phone are TOO LARGE also.....)
How can I control pixel size on my phone/digital camera?
HELP!!!!!! Need to get these pix off my Razr and to a safe place on my computer, so Razr memory is clear and can take more pix!!!!!
