Can anyone tell me how I can find out which version of the Razr I have ? Is there a number on the phone somewhere, possibly inside the phone under the battery, that will tell me if it's a v3m, v3i, v3t, etc. ? Also does anyone know the order that the different Razr versions came out in ? IE: 1st version - v3 2nd version - v3m and so on ? Thanks ! |

Look under the battery. There should be 2 stickers. The phone model is above the barcode on the lower sticker. I have to admit I never owned a RAZR nor did I ever want one, but your question intrigued me, so I did some research and here is what I found. Hope this helps.

The second was the RAZR V3m/c, these versions were made for CDMA carriers (Verizon, Sprint, Alltel, and the like). The only minor difference is the slightly raised camera lens. The "M" logo was below the outside display. The RAZR V3i was an update. The main visual difference was now the "M" logo was within the outside display area and glowed blue. The innerds were improved. The V3x was never released in the US. It was a much thicker Euro version with two cameras for video calling. It didn't last long. The RAZR V3xx was the US version available with UMTS 3G. Cingular/AT&T carried this phone (and still do, by the way). It bears a similar resemblance to the original RAZR V3 ("M" logo back outside of the outer display). The MOTORAZR MaxxVE (or whatever else it's called) was a slightly thicker CDMA version that Verizon carried. It had a larger outside display and had EV-DO high speed ability (CDMA 3G). And finally there is the RAZR 2. Depending on the carrier and technology, there were slight differences. Physically the outside display was considerably larger than before and the innerds were once again improved. There are some other versions which were one of those listed above but with iTunes or other music/multimedia functionality. Basically, Motorola squeezed the living daylights out of, what was in 2004, a revolutionary design. Everybody and their brother seemed to have one and it has been a huge success. Unfortunately Motorola depended (and still does, to a degree) too highly on this phone. I sure hope there isn't a RAZR3 or 4 or 5. This design is dated and needs to be retired (or at least seriously refreshed). Hope this helps.
