Default Silence power down/power up?

Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere... but how do you get rid of the sounds the Motorola RAZR V3m makes when you turn it on and off? I'm tired of everyone looking at me in meetings, concerts, etc. when I turn my phone off. There doesn't seem to be anything in the manual.

Thanks--

Not sure what is involved on the CDMA models, but on the GSM models you can do a seem edit to disable that. It definately involves hacking the phone though.

Wirelessly posted (XV6600 and Blackberry 7250: Opera/9.50 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.0.10406/298; U; en))

you can use the volume key on the side of the phone and arrow it down to silent before you power off the phone, you just have to remember to turn it back up once you power the phone back on.

Meaning there's no way to turn it off permanently? Bummer. On my old phone you could set it to go off and on silently.
