can't transfer to/from comp to Razr v3T

okay so when i hook up my razr via usb it pops up in my computer as J drive mass storage but if i click it, it just says (insert disk to j drive) then if i wait it disappears until i unplug and plug it in again. someone told me i had to get itunes to do it so i did, i can't sync it with itunes anyone no wat to do? i have windows xp with SP2 i know u need SP2 phone the iPhone and the iPod touch to sync with iTunes but i've been told u can just drag and drop to it im my computer after u hook it up, i have no idea what to do now, help me plz
